Comedian Whitney Cummings has signed an exclusive distribution and ad sales agreement with Studio71 for her podcast, Good for You.
Under the new partnership, Studio71 will be responsible for driving audience growth and managing advertising for both the audio and video versions of the show, which already has a strong YouTube presence.
On each episode of Good for You, Cummings explores culture, motherhood, and what it means to be human in the age of AI. The podcast has amassed over six million subscribers across all platforms, building on Cummings’ successful career as the co-creator of CBS’s 2 Broke Girls, creator and star of NBC’s Whitney, and the author of a bestselling memoir, in addition to six stand-up specials.
“I think the key to success in podcasting is to be yourself… and gravitate the people who get what you do,” Cummings stated. “I treat it more like actual TV or writing a stand-up special; digging deep into each topic instead of superficially addressing everything in the zeitgeist. Studio71 understands this and I can’t wait to get started with them.”
Adam Boorstin, Co-CEO of Studio71, commented, “Whitney is one of the most influential comedic voices today with a deeply engaged audience. We’re excited to leverage Studio71’s video expertise to bring the show to new fans and grow its advertising partnerships on every platform.”
Studio71’s portfolio includes over 100 creator-led podcasts, such as Bill Maher’s Club Random, Kill Tony, and Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald.
The deal was negotiated by Jenny Barish, Studio71’s Senior Director of Podcast Relations. Cummings is represented by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
