Commitment in Question: Georgia’s 5-Star QB Predicted to Flip

The Georgia Bulldogs are at risk of losing their top recruit for the 2026 class, as five-star quarterback Jared Curtis is now projected to flip his commitment to Vanderbilt. The prediction comes from 247Sports analyst Tom Loy, signaling a potential major shift in the recruiting landscape.

Ranked as the No. 1 overall prospect and top quarterback in the 2026 cycle, Curtis is a standout player from Nashville Christian High School in Tennessee. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound signal-caller, known for his physical running ability and impressive size, originally committed to Georgia in May over a list of top programs that included Oregon.

Vanderbilt has been actively pursuing Curtis and hosted him for a visit during their game against Missouri this season. The coveted quarterback also recently attended a Georgia game against Texas. These developments suggest the Commodores have emerged as a serious contender for his services.

Should Curtis decommit, Georgia would need to pivot its recruiting efforts to secure a new quarterback for the 2026 class. While the Bulldogs have strong depth on their current roster, with the potential to return their entire quarterback room including Gunner Stockton, they could also explore options in the transfer portal to address future needs.

This potential recruiting flip comes as Vanderbilt recently saw three-star quarterback Michael Mitchell decommit on November 21. Currently, the Commodores’ 2026 recruiting class is ranked 47th nationally with 20 commitments, while Georgia holds the nation’s third-ranked class with 30 commitments.
