Proerd Program Graduates Over 1,800 Students in Camboriú This Year
The Educational Program for Resistance to Drugs and Violence (Proerd), in partnership with the Camboriú Department of Education, held its third and final graduation ceremony of the year on Thursday, the 27th. The event, which took place at Casa do Pai in the city center, celebrated more than 600 children, bringing the year’s total number of graduates to over 1,800.
“This year alone, nearly two thousand children have graduated from Proerd, surpassing last year’s total of 1,600,” commented Mayor Leonel Pavan. “We want an increasing number of children to participate in this program, which is fundamental for the development of our city’s youth.”
Proerd has been active in Camboriú since its local launch in 1999. Delivered by specially trained military police officers, the initiative partners with schools and families to guide children and adolescents in making safe, healthy, and responsible choices.
The program is a key component of the city’s integrated public safety strategy. Camboriú was recently recognized as one of the safest cities in Santa Catarina, a status supported by preventative initiatives like Proerd that focus on youth education and awareness.
