Although eligible to return from injured reserve, Kyler Murray is not expected to be activated for the Arizona Cardinals’ Week 14 game against the Rams, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Murray’s recovery from a mid-foot sprain has reportedly not progressed as anticipated during his four-week absence. As a result, Jacoby Brissett is expected to retain the starting quarterback role.
Given Brissett’s solid performance in recent weeks, the Cardinals may have little incentive to rush Murray back this season. The team’s decision may also be influenced by Murray’s contract, which includes a $36.8 million guarantee for 2026. An additional $19.5 million salary for 2027 becomes guaranteed if he remains on the roster through March 16.
