AT&T Settlement: Eligible Customers Can Claim Up to ,500

AT&T customers affected by two major data breaches may be eligible for payments of up to $7,500 as part of a $177 million class-action settlement. The court has extended the deadline for affected individuals to submit a claim to December 18, 2025.

The settlement addresses two separate incidents. The first breach occurred in 2019 but was not disclosed until March 2024, after customer data was discovered on the dark web. This incident compromised the personal information of 7.6 million current AT&T customers and 65.4 million former account holders, exposing data such as Social Security numbers, birth dates, and full legal names.

A second breach took place in April 2024 and was announced in July 2024. Hackers gained access to 2022 phone records for nearly all of AT&T’s 109 million U.S. customers, which were stored in the company’s cloud data warehouse, Snowflake.

Following multiple lawsuits, a settlement was reached in March 2025. The agreement allocates $149 million for victims of the 2019 breach and $28 million for those impacted by the 2024 incident.

The final payment amounts will depend on the number of valid claims filed. For the 2019 breach, individuals who can provide documentation of financial losses may receive up to $5,000. Those without documented losses are eligible for a tiered cash payment, with the amount depending on whether their Social Security number was compromised.

For the 2024 Snowflake breach, customers with documented losses can claim up to $2,500. Claimants without proof of loss will receive a pro rata share of the remaining settlement funds. Individuals affected by both breaches are eligible to file claims for both incidents.

To receive compensation, eligible class members must file a claim through the official settlement website, managed by Kroll Settlement Administration. A “Class Member ID,” sent via email from Kroll, is required to complete the online form.

Individuals who believe they are eligible but did not receive a notification should check their spam folder or contact the settlement administrator directly. The administrator can be reached by phone at 833-890-4930 or by mail at: AT&T Data Incident Settlement; c/o Kroll Settlement Administration LLC; P.O. Box 5324; New York, NY 10150-5324. Claim forms can also be printed and mailed to this address, postmarked by the December 18, 2025 deadline.
