Wayne Brady and Taye Diggs are set to join the Broadway cast of Moulin Rouge! The Musical next year. The production has released a promotional video offering a first look at the incoming stars in costume.
Beginning Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Brady will take on the role of Harold Zidler, and Diggs will portray The Duke of Monroth at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Both actors are scheduled for limited engagements, with Diggs performing through Sunday, September 28, and Brady through Sunday, November 9.
They will succeed Austin Durant and Andy Karl, who will play their final performances in the roles on July 20, 2025. That same evening will also mark the final bows for Solea Pfeiffer and Jordan Fisher. The lead roles of Satine and Christian will then be filled by Ashley Loren and Christian Douglas.
Wayne Brady is a five-time Emmy Award winner and multiple Grammy nominee with a diverse career as an actor, producer, singer, and television personality. His previous Broadway credits include The Wiz, Chicago, Kinky Boots, and Freestyle Love Supreme. His other notable stage work includes playing Aaron Burr in the Chicago production of Hamilton and Collins in a Los Angeles run of Rent.
Taye Diggs is a celebrated actor known for leading roles in series such as “Private Practice” and “All American,” and in films like How Stella Got Her Groove Back and The Best Man. On stage, he originated the role of Benjamin Coffin III in the musical Rent, which he later reprised in the film adaptation. Diggs has also appeared in the Broadway productions of Chicago, Wicked, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
