Fox News is overhauling its weekend programming, launching a new show for former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany and replacing Pete Hegseth following his confirmation as U.S. Secretary of Defense.
In a new lineup set to debut on September 20, McEnany will host “Saturday in America,” a new two-hour program. McEnany, who currently co-hosts “Outnumbered,” joined the network after serving as President Donald Trump’s press secretary from April 2020 to January 2021.
Griff Jenkins is set to replace Hegseth as a co-host on “Fox & Friends Weekend.” Hegseth’s departure comes after President Trump nominated him to lead the Department of Defense. He was confirmed in January by a 51-50 vote, with Vice President JD Vance casting the tie-breaker.
Other changes include “The Sunday Briefing,” a new show that will be hosted on a rotating basis by senior White House correspondents Peter Doocy and Jacqui Heinrich. Additionally, “The Big Weekend Show” will expand to a three-hour broadcast on both Saturdays and Sundays. Retired Marine Johnny Joey Jones and conservative commentator Tomi Lahren will be among the four new co-hosts joining the expanded program.
The network announced the programming changes on September 10, prior to the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at an event at Utah Valley University. Kirk, a close political ally of Trump, had recently served as a guest co-host on “Fox & Friends Weekend” in July.
