The Jacksonville Jaguars and Cincinnati Bengals will both look to build on narrow Week 1 victories when they face off in a key AFC matchup. Jacksonville, in its first game under offensive coordinator Liam Coen, secured a win over the Carolina Panthers. Meanwhile, the Bengals started strong against the Cleveland Browns with a touchdown on their opening drive before holding on for a 17-16 victory.
This game presents several interesting betting propositions, particularly for anytime touchdown scorers.
One of the top candidates is Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase (-140). After averaging a touchdown per game and securing the receiving Triple Crown last season, Chase is a constant threat. He recorded five games with two or more touchdowns in 2024 and could be poised for another such performance. While quarterback Joe Burrow targeted him just five times in Week 1—a frequency that occurred only once last season—that volume is expected to increase significantly. Chase holds a distinct advantage against a Jacksonville secondary that allowed the most passing yards per game in the league a season ago.
For the Jaguars, running back Travis Etienne (+115) offers strong value. After a challenging 2024 campaign, Etienne appears to have reclaimed his role as the team’s primary ball carrier. With Tank Bigsby traded and rookie Bhayshul Tuten receiving only three carries in the opener, the backfield belongs to Etienne. His involvement in the passing game further boosts his scoring potential against a Bengals run defense that surrendered nearly 125 yards per game last season. Following a 143-yard effort in Week 1, Etienne is primed for another impactful performance.
