The Wimbledon men’s final will feature a highly anticipated showdown between World No. 1 Jannik Sinner and No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz.
The championship is a rematch of their memorable 2025 French Open final, a five-hour classic that ended in an Alcaraz victory. Both players reflected on that grueling encounter ahead of their meeting on Centre Court.
“I just hope not to be 5 1/2 hours on court again,” Alcaraz said. “If I have to, I will. But I think it’s going to be great.”
Sinner shared the sentiment, stating, “Hopefully it’s going to be a good match, like the last one. I don’t know if it’ll get better, because I don’t think it’s possible.”
To reach the final, Alcaraz defeated American Taylor Fritz 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (6) in Friday’s semifinals. Sinner followed with a dominant performance, dispatching seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic in straight sets.
This will be their fifth meeting in a Grand Slam, with Alcaraz holding a 3-1 lead in their head-to-head record.
