The Milwaukee Brewers are capitalizing on a viral moment involving manager Pat Murphy’s unusual dugout snacking habits. The team has announced it will begin selling “Murph’s Pocket Pancakes” at American Family Field during Sunday home games for the remainder of the season, starting this weekend against the New York Mets.
The promotion was inspired by a recent interview where Murphy pulled a pancake from his uniform pocket, took a bite, and shared it with the reporter. The clip quickly gained traction online, with Murphy later explaining his methods for carrying various snacks.
“Waffles, pancakes, pizza,” Murphy listed during a postgame news conference while finishing his pancake. When asked how he avoids staining his uniform with a slice of pizza, he explained, “If it’s cold pizza, you fold it up like a sandwich… you can eat it during the game. And then when I wear a hoodie, I have the pocket right here, and that’s full of crumbs.”
Since Murphy’s pancake moment last week, the Brewers have remained undefeated and have secured the best record in Major League Baseball.
Fans can purchase the “Ball Four Pocket Pack,” which includes four small pancakes with a choice of maple syrup or strawberry compote for $4.99. A more substantial option, the “Double Chicken ‘n’ Pancakes Pocket Pack,” features two pancakes each stuffed with a chicken tender, topped with chopped bacon and a maple syrup drizzle for $7.99.
