Catastrophic flash floods in the Texas Hill Country on July 4 have left more than 120 people dead and dozens missing, prompting extensive search and recovery operations along the Guadalupe River.
The disaster occurred after more than a foot of rain fell in under 12 hours across the western Guadalupe River basin. The deluge caused the river to rise an unprecedented 26 feet in just 45 minutes, washing away homes and vehicles. The Camp Mystic summer camp was severely impacted, resulting in the loss of more than two dozen children and staff members.
