A24 has unveiled the first trailer for its romantic comedy Eternity, starring Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller, and Callum Turner. The film, directed by David Freyne, is scheduled to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival ahead of its theatrical release in November.
Eternity is set in an afterlife where newly arrived souls have one week to decide where they will spend the rest of their existence. The plot follows Joan (Olsen), who faces an impossible choice between the man she spent her life with (Teller) and her first love (Turner), who died decades earlier and has been waiting for her.
Freyne co-wrote the screenplay with Pat Cunnane, based on Cunnane’s original script which was featured on the 2022 Black List. The film was produced by Oscar nominees Trevor White and Tim White under their Star Thrower Entertainment banner. The supporting cast includes John Early, Olga Merediz, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph.
The film joins a busy upcoming slate for A24. The studio’s forthcoming releases include the documentary Architecton, Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest starring Denzel Washington, Ne Zha 2, Benny Safdie’s The Smashing Machine with Dwayne Johnson, and the Timothée Chalamet-led Marty Supreme.
