ESPN’s popular debate show “First Take” will broadcast live from Bethune-Cookman University on Thursday, November 20, from 10 a.m. to noon inside Moore Gymnasium.
The live broadcast is the final destination on the show’s four-stop tour of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The event will feature mainstay Stephen A. Smith alongside former NFL MVP Cam Newton, Super Bowl champion Ryan Clark, and other special guests.
First announced in August, the tour also made stops at Norfolk State University, Legion Field in Birmingham for the rivalry game between Alabama A&M and Alabama State, and Delaware State University in October.
The visit to Bethune-Cookman is timed to precede the university’s annual Florida Classic football game against its archrival, Florida A&M, scheduled for the following Saturday. The tour represents an expansion of the show’s focus on HBCUs, following a three-campus visit last year.
Smith himself is a graduate of an HBCU, Winston-Salem State, where “First Take” previously broadcast in 2019.
The special episode will air live on ESPN and will be available for streaming on the ESPN app.
