According to sources, Justin Bieber is set to release his seventh studio album on Friday, July 11, via Def Jam. The project is his first since 2021’s Justice. Representatives for Bieber and Def Jam declined to comment on the release.
Speculation about the album’s title, possibly Swag, has intensified following the appearance of viral billboards in Iceland and Los Angeles featuring the word alongside Bieber’s image. The artist further fueled anticipation on Thursday by posting what appears to be the album’s tracklist and other studio-related content on his social media channels. Recent posts suggest the music is in its final mixing stages.
The album was finalized in late April during a trip to Iceland, where Bieber held creative sessions with a team of musicians. The record is expected to feature a diverse lineup of talent, including guest appearances from Gunna, Sexyy Red, and Cash Cobain. Longtime collaborators such as DJ Tay James and musical director HARV were involved, alongside SZA collaborator Carter Lang, Australian artist Eddie Benjamin, and producer Dylan Wiggins. Bieber also reportedly enlisted emerging artists he discovered on social media, including U.K. singer-songwriter Sekou.
This release follows a period of significant personal and professional change for the superstar. In the three years since his last album, Bieber and his wife, Hailey Bieber, welcomed their first child. Professionally, he parted ways with his longtime manager, Scooter Braun, in 2023.
The two recently settled outstanding financial matters stemming from the 2022 cancellation of Bieber’s Justice world tour. The resolution addresses a debt to promoter AEG that was covered by a loan from Braun’s company after Bieber received a $40 million advance for the tour. This follows Bieber’s $200 million music catalog sale to Hipgnosis Songs and Hailey Bieber’s recent $1 billion sale of her Rhode Beauty brand to e.l.f. Beauty, a company in which Braun was a seed investor.
