Meanwhile, Club América is looking to rebound from significant disappointment. Their quest for a historic fourth consecutive league title was cut short by Toluca in the previous tournament’s final. The loss was compounded when André Jardine’s squad failed to qualify for the Club World Cup after losing a crucial playoff match against LAFC.
