Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham continued her trend of making pre-game fashion statements before her team’s 93-78 victory over the Chicago Sky on Sunday. Arriving at the United Center, Cunningham wore a T-shirt with the message “Hot Girls Eat Arby’s,” paired with black leather shorts.
Cunningham, who has frequently gained attention for her gameday attire since her time with the Phoenix Mercury, has previously commented on the growing interest in players’ off-court style. “I do think it’s super cool that people are interested in what we do off the court now,” she said last September. “Our tunnel fits have been a fashion show, and people are so excited and intrigued about what we’re going to wear.”
On the court, Cunningham started and played for 31 minutes, contributing five points, two steals, and one rebound to the Fever’s win. Teammate Kelsey Mitchell delivered a standout performance, leading all scorers with 35 points on 12-of-19 shooting from the floor.
The victory improves Indiana’s record to 14-12 as the team continues to compete without rookie phenom Caitlin Clark, who is sidelined with a groin injury and has no timetable for her return. The Fever currently sit in the middle of the WNBA standings, one game behind the Seattle Storm for fifth place.
