Kathy Griffin has publicly responded to Andy Cohen’s recent remarks at BravoCon, where he revealed a private email exchange between the two nemeses.
Speaking at the fan convention in Las Vegas, Cohen told the crowd that he and Griffin had “emailed the other day,” adding, “Never say never,” regarding a potential end to their years-long feud.
During a stand-up show in Los Angeles on Saturday, Griffin confirmed the exchange, stating she was shocked to receive an email from Cohen “out of the blue” for the first time in eight years.
Griffin, who starred in the Bravo reality series “My Life on the D-List” from 2005 to 2010, described her former boss as “difficult.” She characterized his recent email as “civil” and “sort of nice,” but said it lacked a genuine apology, comparing it to a “sorry, not sorry.”
The comedian explained that she sent a quick and “kind of emotional” reply, telling her audience, “I don’t really need to be in any more beefs.” She also acknowledged Cohen’s influence and admitted, “I wish I were back at Bravo. It was a fun place to work.”
However, Griffin was frustrated that Cohen discussed their private communication publicly. “Hold on, girl. You emailed me for the first time in eight years after f–king doing me dirty and taking my job and firing me from Bravo, but OK,” she recalled thinking. Griffin’s career suffered after a controversial 2017 photo shoot, and Cohen subsequently replaced her as co-host of CNN’s New Year’s Eve special.
While Griffin stated that Cohen’s public disclosure “did hurt,” she left the door open for a possible reconciliation. When asked directly if she would make up with him, she responded, “Let’s go with ‘maybe.'”
Representatives for Cohen did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
