The horror life-sim RPG Neverway is officially coming to the Nintendo Switch, with a planned release in 2026. The game hails from a notable creative team, featuring pixel art from a co-creator of the acclaimed platformer Celeste and an original soundtrack by renowned composer Disasterpeace.
Neverway fuses elements of slow-burning horror, life simulation, and action RPG gameplay. Players will step into the shoes of Fiona, who, after quitting her job, attempts to start a new life on a remote island farm. Her plans take a dark turn when she becomes the immortal herald of a dead god and must contend with a nightmare reality, known as Neverway, that is slowly encroaching upon her world.
The core gameplay involves balancing daily life activities—such as farming, fishing, and crafting—with fast-paced combat against encroaching horrors. Players can customize their playstyle with crafted items and unique combat abilities. Beyond the farm and the fight for survival, the game will feature a cast of over ten characters to meet and build relationships with, including romance options. The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer showcasing the game’s dynamic cutscenes, distinct visual style, and unsettling atmosphere.
