Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has been ruled out of France’s upcoming match against Iceland on Monday due to a quadriceps injury.
The centre-back, who also missed his country’s win over Azerbaijan on Friday, will not travel to Reykjavik for the fixture.
In a statement released on Saturday, the French national team confirmed that the injury was sustained during Konate’s last match with Liverpool. “Injured in the right quadriceps… Ibrahima Konate has followed a treatment and protocol since his arrival this Monday but will not be able to take his place against Iceland,” the announcement read.
