The filing asserts that Satterthwaite’s persistence has previously resulted in a contempt of court order against him. Satterthwaite first brought his claim to public attention in 2015, accusing Jay-Z of using his celebrity status and legal resources to evade a paternity test. In his lawsuit, Satterthwaite states that the prolonged legal battle has caused him significant emotional, psychological, and physical distress.
Satterthwaite’s family has long supported his efforts. His mother, Wanda, who passed away in 2016, left a video recording affirming her son’s claim and her wish for a paternity test. His godmother, Dr. Lillie Coley, has suggested that Jay-Z’s reluctance to resolve the matter stems from Wanda being a minor at the time of their alleged encounter. Coley noted that the family pursued a public platform only after private attempts at resolution failed.
This paternity dispute is one of several high-profile challenges the entrepreneur has faced recently.
