The Kennesaw State Owls will aim to maintain their perfect Conference USA record when they face the Florida International Panthers on Tuesday.
Coming off a dominant 35-7 victory over Louisiana Tech, Kennesaw State (4-2, 2-0 C-USA) enters the matchup on a four-game winning streak. However, the Owls are still seeking their first road win of the season (0-2). Florida International (3-3, 1-1 C-USA) is riding high after a significant 25-6 upset victory against Western Kentucky. The Panthers have been solid at home with a 2-1 record.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET at Pitbull Stadium in Westchester, Fla. Kennesaw State is currently a 3-point favorite, with the over/under for total points set at 49.5. In their only previous meeting last season, the Owls secured a narrow 27-26 win.
Kennesaw State’s offense has been effective with a two-quarterback system featuring senior Dexter Williams II and sophomore Amari Odom. Williams started in the win against Louisiana Tech, throwing for 290 yards and four touchdowns. For the season, Odom has completed nearly 72% of his passes for 754 yards and four scores. The primary receiving threat is senior Gabriel Benyard, who has 29 catches for 398 yards and three touchdowns, finding the end zone in three of the last four games.
Florida International is led by junior quarterback Keyone Jenkins, who has thrown for 959 yards and three touchdowns while adding four rushing touchdowns. The ground game is powered by senior running back Kejon Owens, who has been formidable with 658 rushing yards and six touchdowns on a 6.7 yards-per-carry average. Owens was instrumental in the upset over Western Kentucky, rushing for 195 yards and a touchdown.
