Key Developments Emerge from Titans’ Friday Practice

The Tennessee Titans wrapped up their final practice of the week on Friday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park, finalizing preparations for their Sunday game against the Seattle Seahawks.

The team has officially ruled out three players: safety Xavier Woods (hamstring), receiver Elic Ayomanor (hamstring), and safety Kendell Brooks (concussion).

In positive news, receiver and return specialist Chimere Dike is expected to play after leaving last Sunday’s game with a chest contusion. Interim coach Mike McCoy praised Dike’s consistent work ethic, saying, “He’s his normal self. He’s a young player that is a true pro and he only does it one way. He works his tail off and you love the guy.” While Dike will be active at receiver, his specific role on special teams for Sunday remains to be seen.

Ayomanor’s absence adds to a depleted receiver group, with Calvin Ridley and Bryce Oliver placed on Injured Reserve last week. This has fueled speculation that Xavier Restrepo could be activated from the practice squad. McCoy did not confirm any roster moves, stating that decisions will be made closer to game day. “It’s an opportunity of a lifetime for the guys,” he said, crediting the practice squad receivers for their hard work. “This is an opportunity for some of you guys to step up.”

In other team news, receiver Van Jefferson will serve as the extra gameday captain.

Running back Kalel Mullings, recovering from an ankle injury, was a full participant in practice all week. The team designated him to return from Injured Reserve, opening a 21-day window for his activation. He is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.

Here is the final injury report for the matchup with Seattle:

QUESTIONABLE

  • CB Darrell Baker Jr. (knee) – Did not practice
  • G/C Corey Levin (neck) – Limited practice
  • RB Kalel Mullings (ankle) – Full practice

CLEARED TO PLAY

  • LB Joe Bachie (ankle)
  • TE Chig Okonkwo (foot)
  • DT Jeffery Simmons (rest)
  • RB Tyjae Spears (rest)
  • DE Jihad Ward (rest)
  • G Kevin Zeitler (rest)

The Titans are scheduled to hold a final walkthrough on Saturday before the game.
