Center Frank Ragnow’s comeback has been abruptly canceled, as the Detroit Lions announced Saturday that he will not play this season due to a failed physical.
The team had reinstated Ragnow from the retired list earlier this week, but a subsequent examination revealed a Grade 3 hamstring strain. In a statement posted to social media, the Lions confirmed the injury will prevent his return to the field this year.
While the organization stated that Ragnow will “forever be a Lion,” the team will now have to find other options for offensive line help in the final weeks of the season.
