How to Claim Lottery Winnings in Louisiana
Prizes up to $600 can be claimed at any authorized Louisiana Lottery retailer.
Prizes exceeding $600 must be claimed either by mail or in person at a designated Louisiana Lottery office. Winnings of more than $5,000 must be claimed in person at the lottery headquarters in Baton Rouge.
Claiming by Mail
- Sign the back of your winning ticket and complete the requested information. Ensure all scratch-off material is removed from instant tickets so barcodes are visible.
- Photocopy the front and back of your ticket for your records. Please note that photocopies are not accepted for claiming Powerball and Mega Millions prizes.
- Complete the Louisiana Lottery Prize Claim Form, available online, and include your phone number and mailing address.
- Include a photocopy of a valid driver’s license or another current photo ID.
- Mail all documents in one envelope to:

Claiming in Person
Winners can claim prizes of any amount at the Louisiana Lottery headquarters located at 555 Laurel Street in Baton Rouge. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
