Police officers in Tempe, Arizona, completed a pizza delivery for a resident after arresting the GrubHub driver during a traffic stop.
The incident, which occurred on July 4, gained widespread attention after the Tempe Police Department shared a video of the unusual service. The footage shows a visibly surprised customer opening her door to find two officers with her food order.
After confirming they had the correct address, one officer explained the situation: “Your GrubHub guy got arrested, so we still delivered your pizza.” The appreciative customer was assured her meal should still be warm.
The department posted the video to social media with the lighthearted caption, “When your GrubHub driver gets arrested… Tempe Police Delivers.” In a subsequent post, the department added, “The order was Hot-N-Ready, and the suspect was Caught-N-Steady. We’re committed to serving our community 24/7—whether it’s safety or pizza delivery!”
According to authorities, the delivery driver was taken into custody on charges of reckless driving and racing.
