Rush members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have announced a Detroit performance as part of their expanding “Fifty Something” tour in 2026. The duo will play Little Caesars Arena on August 26, marking their first concert in Michigan in more than a decade and their first since the death of drummer Neil Peart in 2020.
Registration is now open for a ticket presale that will run from noon on October 27 through midnight on October 29. The general public sale begins at noon on October 31 through Ticketmaster.
For the tour, bassist Lee and guitarist Lifeson will be joined by German drummer Anika Nilles. The setlist is expected to feature songs from across the band’s five-decade catalog. The tour has been warmly received by fans and endorsed by the family of Peart, who was widely regarded as one of rock’s greatest drummers.
The Detroit date was one of 17 new markets added to the tour on Monday, two weeks after an initial seven-city itinerary was announced. The tour is scheduled to kick off on June 7 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
Michigan has long been a stronghold for the Toronto-based band, which played a festival in Lansing in the spring of 1974 before embarking on its first major tour.
“There’s always been a great affinity between us and the fans there,” Lifeson told the Detroit Free Press in 2012. “The Midwest is such a strong rock area, between places like Detroit and Cleveland. I think that’s the heart of the rock ‘n’ roll world, so it’s always a treat for us.”
