Mohit Suri’s romantic drama ‘Saiyaara’ has crossed the ₹150 crore mark at the domestic box office in just six days, continuing its phenomenal run after a record-breaking opening weekend. The film, which catapulted newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda to stardom, has maintained strong collections during the weekdays, outperforming several major blockbusters.
After a stellar opening weekend that concluded with ₹35.75 crore on Sunday, the film demonstrated remarkable stability. It earned a commendable ₹24 crore on its first Monday, followed by a slight increase to ₹25 crore on Tuesday, a performance likely boosted by discounted ticket prices at major cinema chains. On Wednesday, collections saw a minor, anticipated dip to ₹21 crore, bringing the film’s six-day total to ₹153.25 crore.
‘Saiyaara’ has set new benchmarks, with its performance surpassing that of many big-budget films. According to Box Office India, its Tuesday collections in the Delhi/UP circuit were more than double that of ‘Chhaava’ and were poised to eclipse the first Tuesday numbers of ‘Pushpa 2’ in the region. This achievement is particularly notable as its Tuesday figures also outperformed post-pandemic blockbusters like ‘Jawan’ and ‘Pathaan’ in the same circuit.
The film’s box office dominance is expected to continue, as it faces no significant competition in the coming week. The release of ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’ has been postponed to August 1, a move widely speculated to be a response to ‘Saiyaara’s’ sustained success. This clear theatrical window positions the film to further extend its impressive run.
