While quarterback LaNorris Sellers became a household name for South Carolina fans last season, his younger brother is now making his own mark. Freshman wide receiver Jayden Sellers delivered a breakout performance in the Gamecocks’ 51-7 victory over Coastal Carolina.
Sellers finished the game with four receptions for 127 yards, highlighted by a spectacular 75-yard touchdown on the first play from scrimmage—his first as a Gamecock. The performance was historic, ranking as the fifth-highest single-game receiving total by a freshman in program history. The achievement places Sellers in the company of former Gamecock standouts and Super Bowl champions Sidney Rice and Alshon Jeffery, as well as NFL draft pick Marcus Lattimore.
The 5-foot-11 receiver is a graduate of South Florence High School, where he shared the field with his older brother for one varsity season. In his freshman campaign at South Carolina, Jayden has accumulated 270 yards on 17 catches, averaging a team-third 15.9 yards per reception. He has appeared in four games, making his debut against Oklahoma on October 18 with a six-catch, 57-yard performance.
As Jayden emerges as a key offensive weapon, his brother LaNorris has remained noncommittal about his future NFL prospects, stating after the win that his focus remains on the current season.
