Thanasis Antetokounmpo is returning to the Milwaukee Bucks on a one-year, fully guaranteed $2.9 million contract, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The announcement was first made on the official X account for Antetokounmpo’s “Thanalysis Show.”
The move marks the 33-year-old forward’s return to the NBA after missing the entire 2024-25 season while recovering from surgery he underwent late in the 2023-24 campaign.
Antetokounmpo recently made his competitive return with the Greek national team in the EuroBasket 2025 tournament. Playing for coach Vassilis Spanoulis, he has been an energetic contributor, helping Greece achieve an undefeated start in the preliminary round while averaging 3.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game.
The new contract reunites him with his brother and Bucks superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo. Thanasis previously played for Milwaukee from 2019 to 2024, a tenure highlighted by their 2021 NBA Championship victory.
