Mila Kunis recently shared that thoughtful gestures from her husband, Ashton Kutcher, are a key part of what makes their 10-year marriage work. The actress praised Kutcher for a recent surprise that combined her love for reality television with his knack for heartfelt acts.
During an interview at the Toronto International Film Festival, Kunis recounted how Kutcher arranged a surprise FaceTime call with cast members from her favorite show, “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.” She recalled her husband telling her, “You’ll be really happy about this,” before revealing the show’s stars on the screen. “I was like ‘oh my God!’” Kunis said. “He knows me so well.”
The actress credited Kutcher’s acceptance of her interests, no matter how different from his own, for their strong bond. “My husband is really great at loving me… he accepts me for who I am,” she explained, noting that he can be reading a book on quantum physics while she is watching “Real Housewives.”
Layla Taylor, a star of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” later shared her side of the story, describing a chance encounter with Kutcher in New York. She and castmate Jessi Ngatikaura approached the actor, who shocked them by declaring, “Oh my God, I love your show.” Taylor said she was initially skeptical when Kutcher claimed to watch it “all the time” with his wife but became “starstruck” when he immediately FaceTimed Kunis to connect them.
More recently, the couple has been seen in public, including at a Backstreet Boys concert in Las Vegas. They were spotted wearing matching outfits, holding hands, and singing “I Want It That Way” to each other. However, the affectionate display drew criticism online, with some social media users labeling it a “cringe” PR move intended to repair their public image.
The backlash follows scrutiny of the couple’s association with Sean “Diddy” Combs, who has faced multiple charges for sex-related crimes. Online comments referenced the controversy, with one user writing, “They would be the best couple in Hollywood if they didn’t have MASSIVE skeletons in their closet.”
Amid the public attention, Kunis and Kutcher celebrated their 10th anniversary with a private getaway to Venice, Italy. The pair was photographed boarding a yacht, with Kutcher wearing a wrist guard for an unspecified injury.
