Untitled Yorgos Lanthimos Project
Acclaimed director Yorgos Lanthimos will apply his signature surrealist style to a remake of the 2003 South Korean sci-fi comedy, Save the Green Planet!. The absurdist farce follows two conspiracy theorists who kidnap a high-powered CEO, convinced she is an alien planning to destroy Earth. The film marks Lanthimos’s fifth project with Emma Stone and also reunites him with Kinds of Kindness star Jesse Plemons.
The Smashing Machine
Benny Safdie, co-director of Good Time and Uncut Gems, helms this intense biopic about MMA fighter Mark Kerr. Transformed by prosthetics, Dwayne Johnson portrays Kerr through his career victories, devastating losses, and battle with substance abuse. Emily Blunt co-stars as his devoted wife, reuniting the pair after their roles in Jungle Cruise.
A House of Dynamite
Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow returns with a timely political thriller that examines contemporary geopolitical tensions. When a missile is launched at the U.S., a White House team must race to determine the source and decide how to respond. The ensemble cast—which includes Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Greta Lee, Jared Harris, and Anthony Ramos—confronts a potential nuclear catastrophe and the precarious nature of a world reliant on atomic weapons.
The Wizard of the Kremlin
In this politically charged drama, director Olivier Assayas adapts Giuliano da Empoli’s novel about Vladimir Putin’s rise to power. Jude Law stars as the KGB officer who becomes president, with Paul Dano playing his partly fictional political advisor. The film, which also features Alicia Vikander, Zach Galifianakis, and Tom Sturridge, provides a stark insight into Russia’s recent history by exploring the blurred lines between truth, propaganda, nationalism, and imperialism.
