Defending champion Alfie Hewett has advanced to the Wimbledon men’s wheelchair singles final after defeating Martin de la Puente in a repeat of last year’s title match. The British second seed secured a 6-0, 7-5 victory on No. 1 Court.
Hewett is also set to compete in the men’s doubles final alongside partner Gordon Reid.
In the singles final, Hewett will face top seed Tokito Oda. The Japanese player earned his place by overcoming fourth-seed Gustavo Fernandez 7-5, 6-1 on No. 3 Court.
Meanwhile, in the women’s doubles draw, the second semifinal features top seeds Kateřina Siniaková and Taylor Townsend against the fourth-seeded pair of Hsieh Su-Wei and Jelena Ostapenko. Siniaková, from the Czech Republic, is competing just a day after winning the mixed doubles title.
The victor of that match will play eighth seeds Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens in the final. The Russian-Belgian pair booked their spot in the championship match with a three-set victory over Desirae Krawczyk and Olivia Gadecki.
