The Mega Millions jackpot has climbed to an estimated $381 million after no ticket matched all winning numbers in the drawing on Tuesday, September 9. The winning numbers for the drawing on Friday, September 12, 2025, were 17, 18, 21, 42, and 64, with a Mega Ball of 7.
Should a single winner match all six numbers, they will have the choice of an annuitized prize of $381 million or a one-time cash payment of approximately $175 million.
This year has produced four Mega Millions jackpot winners. The most recent was a $348 million prize claimed in Virginia on June 27. Other significant wins in 2025 include a $112 million jackpot in Ohio on April 18, a $344 million prize in Illinois on March 25, and a $113 million jackpot won on January 17.
To play Mega Millions, participants select five numbers from 1 to 70 and one gold Mega Ball number from 1 to 24. For those who prefer random selection, “Quick Pick” or “Easy Pick” options are available, where a computer generates the numbers. Players can also add the “Megaplier” option for an additional cost to multiply non-jackpot prizes.
Lottery tickets are available for purchase at authorized retailers such as gas stations, convenience stores, and grocery stores. In certain states and territories, tickets can also be bought online through official digital lottery couriers.
