(Trends Wide) — At least 16 people were injured and one was killed after a car plowed through an Apple store in Hingham, Massachusetts, Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz said at a news conference Monday.
Numerous 911 calls for help were received at the Derby Street store around 10:45 a.m., Cruz said. Hingham police and firefighters responded shortly after to find several people injured at the Apple store, Cruz added.
“A dark colored SUV appears, which drove at an undetermined speed, through a … glass window and struck multiple people,” Cruz said.
“Sixteen people were transported to hospitals,” Cruz said. “One fatality reported.”
Apple’s Derby Street location in Hingham is closed at the moment, according to its website.
“We are sorry for the inconvenience while this store is closed,” the website said. “Until we can reopen again, please consider using our online services.”
