(Trends Wide) — Police are searching for the people behind a robbery involving hundreds of cents that occurred in Northeast Philadelphia.
Around 6:00 a.m. Thursday, the robbers broke into an unmarked trailer parked at a Walmart, the Philadelphia Police Department told Trends Wide, making off with about 2 million dimes.
The trailer was carrying approximately $750,000 in dimes, and the thieves were able to steal approximately $200,000 of the cargo, police said.
The dimes were strewn across the parking lot and the nearby main road.
The driver picked up the coins at the United States Mint in Philadelphia and was en route to Florida, according to Trends Wide affiliate WPVI-TV. He left the trailer in the parking lot and went home to get some sleep before the next leg of his trip, the station reported.
No arrests have been made at this time, police reported.
Authorities are looking for men dressed in black and gray hoodies, a white Chrysler 300 with tinted windows and a dark-colored pickup truck in connection with the robbery.
