Although the job projection for the fourth quarter of the year is expected to be less than 115,000 jobs, 2022 will close with positive numbers and it is expected to reach 630,000 new jobs; employers expect to expand their hiring, in a net trend, of 40%, reveals the Employment Outlook Survey.
At a press conference, Aracely OlveraSales Director of ManpowerGroup said that the results were obtained by surveying more than 3,000 Mexican employers, where 53% of employers in the country indicated that they plan to increase their talent requirements, 13% will decrease them, 31% do not expect to make changes and 3 remaining % do not know.
The net trend for the last quarter of the year is 8 percentage points lower compared to the previous quarter.
About, Hector Marquez Pitol, Director of Institutional Relations of the firm stated that each year-end, in the month of December, there is a decrease in jobs due to a seasonal cycle; “There are contracts to meet the demand at the end of the year, but without a doubt, all industries have casualties because they conclude contracts, as is the chaos in the construction or education sector,” he pointed out.
Starting this year, a redesign was carried out in the survey methodology, including emerging and growing sectors such as Information Technology, Telecommunications and Media, Non-Profit Organizations, Restaurants and Hotels, among others.
Hiring expectations are led by sectors such as IT, Technology, Telecommunications; Restaurants and Hotels with 46% by the end of 2022” said Araceli Olvera, Sales Director of ManpowerGroup.
The results in other sectors such as Manufacturing are 44%, followed by Banking, Finance, Construction, Wholesale and Retail Trade reporting 43% while Education, Health, Social Work and Government report the lowest expectations for this period (27%).
