The Israeli General Security Service “Shin Bet” announced the killing of 3 Palestinians near the city of Jenin (northern West Bank), and added in a statement published by Israeli media that the operation took place at the Araba junction in Jenin.

The Shin Bet said that the three martyrs shot at the Israeli forces while trying to arrest them, and the forces responded by shooting and killing them.

The statement claimed that the three Palestinians had recently carried out a shooting attack in the Tulkarm area, and they also planned to carry out more attacks in the near future.

He added that weapons and hand grenades were found in the wanted man’s car, but he did not reveal the identities of the three Palestinians.

For its part, Palestine TV (official) said that 3 citizens were martyred in an assassination operation carried out by the occupation army at the Arraba junction near Jenin.

Eyewitnesses said that the occupation forces fired live bullets at a vehicle carrying the three Palestinians at the Araba junction in Jenin, before withdrawing from the site of the operation.

Sources in the Palestinian ambulance said that the Israeli occupation forces are keeping the bodies of the three martyrs and refusing to hand them over.

For its part, the Israeli newspaper, Haaretz, said that at least two Israeli soldiers were wounded during this security operation in Jenin.

Tensions escalated during the past week after a series of attacks in Israel, and Israeli officials warned of a possible escalation in attacks during the month of Ramadan and until Eid al-Fitr, which happened last Ramadan.

And last Tuesday, a Palestinian gunman shot dead 5 Israelis in the Israeli city of Bnei Brak, before he was killed by police bullets, and the attack, which was condemned by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, raised the number of Israeli deaths during the past week to 11.

Israeli forces killed 3 Palestinians in clashes on Thursday and Friday, and a Palestinian stabbed a passenger on an Israeli bus near a Jewish settlement in the West Bank, and another passenger shot him dead.
