(Trends Wide) — Three people were injured in a “shooting incident” at a shopping center outside Wilmington on Saturday night, according to the Delaware State Police.
Multiple law enforcement agencies and other emergency services responded to the scene at Christiana Mall where an investigation is underway, New Castle County Emergency Management Coordinator Dave Carpenter Jr told Trends Wide.
“There are currently no public safety concerns in and around Christiana Mall. Please avoid the area while DSP collects more information.” tweeted Delaware State Police.
Police said they “can confirm that the suspect is not in custody at this time.” So far there is no information on who opened fire or what caused the shooting.
Police also did not provide details on the conditions of the victims, but said they were all transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.
The Delaware Department of Transportation tweeted that all entrances to the mall are closed. closed “due to police activity.”
Authorities set up a reunification site at the mall’s north entrance next to the AT&T store, according to police.
