‘I’ve always been overweight. I was always the fat kid in school. I was always the fat friend. I was never asked out to a school dance,’ she recalled. ‘I didn’t exist.’
She admitted that when she weighed 300 pounds, she would eat whatever she wanted whenever she wanted.  Â
‘Everything changed after my breakup,’ she said. ‘I was in a three-year relationship. He left me two days after New Year’s, and something in me said, “Let it go.” That was definitely my turning point.’Â

‘Two of me could fit in here,’ she said while trying on a pair of her old pants. ‘That’s crazy.’
Josie admitted that she has considered getting surgery to remove the excess skin that hangs from her arms, stomach, and inner thighs.
‘I have a lot of loose skin. I am very nervous for Lupe to see me,’Â she said before trying on her new swimsuit. ‘I’m almost 30 years old, and I’ve never worn a bikini ever.’

‘She looks great, and you can tell that she feels great because she’s confident,’ Lupe said. ‘She carries herself with such an ease. She’s not worried about others judging her.’
Josie stressed that ‘we need to normalize normal bodes, saying: ‘It’s OK if you have loose skin on your arms. It’s OK if your inner thighs are loose. It’s OK because you’re beautiful. That’s what makes you different.Â
‘If I had the old me in front of me, I would just tell her it will all be OK. That’s all,’ she added, getting emotional. ‘My weight loss journey started as a revenge body to get back at my ex, but along the way, I realized it was not about him. It was about me.’
