COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A 4-year-old child taken to the hospital following a shooting in Columbia has passed away, according to the Columbia Police Department (CPD).
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the child as Jah’el E. Walker, 4, of Columbia.
The shooting happened Tuesday at the 200 block of Harbison Boulevard.
Police said on Wednesday the boy was inside a car with other children. CPD said the child was shot and taken to the hospital where he later died.
The case is under investigation.
