Barcelona’s new president, Juan Laporta, wants to deal a heavy blow to the upcoming summer transfer market, but he knows he must first sell a lot and good deals.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Sport”, Barcelona wants to conclude a deal to include Norwegian Erling Haaland, the Borussia Dortmund striker.
But the economic situation for Barcelona is still difficult, so the administration will depend, in financing the new deals, on the sale of the existing players.
The newspaper stated that Laporta has a good relationship with Mino Raiola, Haaland’s agent, but the latter’s departure from Dortmund will require at least 100 million euros.

The newspaper pointed out that financing the deal will force Barcelona to offer a number of players for sale, such as Junior Verbo, Philip Coutinho, Antoine Griezmann, Martin Braithwaite, Neto, Samuel Umtiti, Miralem Pjanic, and Matthews.
It is disappointing for Barcelona that it has invested 250 million euros in Griezmann and Coutinho only, but with the consequences of the Corona pandemic and the devaluation of players, the Catalan club is not expected to succeed in concluding huge sales.
