A new “Liquid Glass” setting offers enhanced visual customization, allowing users to choose between the default clear appearance or a new tinted look that increases the opacity of materials in apps and Lock Screen notifications.
Audio features see significant enhancements, with Live Translation now supporting Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, and Italian directly through AirPods. Within Apple Music, the MiniPlayer gains a swipe gesture to navigate tracks, and the AutoMix feature now extends its support to AirPlay. The update also improves FaceTime audio quality, particularly in low-bandwidth conditions.
Content creators and audio professionals will benefit from new recording controls, including the ability to adjust the gain on external USB microphones. Additionally, files from local captures can now be saved to a user-specified location.
For fitness enthusiasts, workouts can now be logged manually directly within the Fitness app. In another customization update, a new Camera setting lets users disable the swipe-to-open gesture from the Lock Screen.
On the safety front, Communication Safety and web content filters designed to limit adult websites are now enabled by default for existing child accounts for users aged 13-17, with specific age ranges varying by country or region.
