Countdown to Kickoff: Your Guide to 2025 Super Bowl Week Events

A full slate of activities is planned across the Bay Area leading up to the 128th Big Game between California and Stanford. The annual football contest is set for Saturday, November 22, at Stanford Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 4:30 p.m. PT on the ACC Network.

Cal enters the week with possession of The Axe, the rivalry’s coveted trophy, having won the last four consecutive matchups and five of the last six. This historic rivalry, which dates back to 1892, is the sixth-longest active series between two Football Bowl Subdivision teams and is known for its dramatic finishes. The Big Game has been decided by a touchdown or less 56 times, with five contests won on the final play, including the legendary 1982 finish known as “The Play.”

In anticipation of the game, the Cal campus will be illuminated in blue and gold each night. Key landmarks, including Wheeler Hall, Doe Library, the Campanile, and Sather Gate, will be lit from sunset until 2 a.m.
