Breeze Airways has canceled its planned service between Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM) and Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) months before its scheduled debut. Redmond Airport officials confirmed Friday that the direct connection will continue uninterrupted, as Alaska Airlines has been operating the route since October.
In a statement, Breeze cited the need to “maximize resources” and make schedule adjustments for the cancellation. The airline affirmed it still intends to launch its planned service between Redmond and Las Vegas, which is scheduled to begin in mid-March.
The carrier first announced its expansion into Redmond in August, unveiling plans for flights to Burbank, Las Vegas, and Provo, Utah. That announcement followed the departure of Avelo Airlines, which had ceased all of its flights from the Central Oregon airport.
“We’re pleased to share that Alaska Airlines began offering daily nonstop service between Redmond and Burbank as of Oct. 26,” said Jodi Low, a Redmond Airport official. “This ensures continued direct access to the Burbank area for Central Oregon travelers.”
Breeze stated that all customers who had booked flights on the canceled route have been notified of the change. Founded in 2021, the airline operates approximately 170 year-round and seasonal routes across 60 cities.
