Lainey Wilson has secured her ninth top 10 hit on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, as “Somewhere Over Laredo” rises from No. 11 to No. 9. The track’s climb is supported by 4.1 million official U.S. streams, a radio audience of 24.6 million, and 1,000 in sales for the tracking week of November 14-20, according to Luminate.
Co-written by Wilson and produced by Jay Joyce, the song interpolates the iconic 1939 classic “Over the Rainbow.” This latest achievement solidifies Wilson’s position among country music’s most successful women. Over the past decade, her nine top 10s on the chart tie her with Maren Morris for third place among solo female artists, behind only Taylor Swift (17) and Carrie Underwood (10). Her ascent appears even sharper within the last five years, where she ranks second only to Swift among solo women and fourth overall.
Meanwhile, Kelsea Ballerini is also making an impression on the Hot Country Songs chart with two titles from her new EP, Mount Pleasant. Her song “Emerald City” debuts at No. 36 with 2.9 million streams, while “I Sit in Parks” has climbed to No. 32, logging 3.3 million streams. The EP itself enters the Top Country Albums chart at No. 9 with 13,000 equivalent album units. “Emerald City” marks Ballerini’s 24th career entry on the chart.
