Bournemouth and Everton Face Off in Vital Premier League Showdown

Bournemouth enter their Premier League clash with Everton holding a significant historical advantage, having won six of their last eight meetings and their last three in a row. This dominance is particularly pronounced at home, as Everton have failed to win in eight away league games at the Vitality Stadium, losing the last four. This represents the longest winless away run Everton have endured against any single opponent in their league history.

Matches between these two sides have consistently been games of two halves. The last three encounters were all goalless at the break, with all nine goals scored in the second half. Overall, 67.3% of goals in this fixture (37 of 55) have come after half-time, with 27.3% (15) arriving in the final 10 minutes.

The Cherries are currently enjoying their longest-ever unbeaten run at home in the top-flight, having avoided defeat in their last seven matches at the Vitality Stadium (W5, D2). Their form in December has also been formidable, with just one loss in their last 12 league games in the month. However, after a ten-game unbeaten streak in midweek fixtures that ended in January, Bournemouth have since lost their last three matches played on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.

In stark contrast to their specific struggles at Bournemouth, Everton’s general away form has been impressive. Since David Moyes returned in January, only Arsenal have accumulated more away points in the Premier League (24). The Toffees have won seven of their 15 away games under the Scot, a significant improvement on the seven victories they managed in the 44 away fixtures prior to his return. Following a 1-0 win at Manchester United, Everton will be aiming for consecutive away clean sheets for the first time since December 2023.

On a personal level, Everton manager David Moyes has lost just one of his nine Premier League games against Bournemouth. On the pitch, Bournemouth’s Marcus Tavernier is in fine form at home, scoring in his last two appearances at the Vitality Stadium after netting only twice in his previous 36 home games. For the visitors, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has become more influential on the road, contributing two goals and an assist in his last five away appearances—more than he managed in his first 39 away matches.
