Premier League clubs are reportedly eyeing up Athletic Bilbao star Mikel Vesga with the midfielder’s contract running out next summer.
Vesga’s deal at the San Mames runs until June 30, meaning he is free to agree a pre-contract deal with other clubs when the January transfer window opens.
According to AS, several LaLiga outfits and some Premier League sides have already shown interest in signing the 27-year-old.

But the Spanish sports daily also state that Vesga’s preference would be to stay at Athletic given the connection he feels with the club.
The classy midfielder has played all 90 minutes in Athletic’s last three LaLiga games, including a fine performance in their 4-0 rout of Real Betis.
Gaizka Garitano’s side sit 14th after a difficult start to the season, and Vesga says he is more worried about helping them stop the rot than his contract situation.
‘It’s not something that worries me now,’ he told ElDesmarque after Athletic’s win against Betis.
‘The important thing after having experienced moments which haven’t been easy for the team is to try and get a good dynamic, good play, win games and it will come.
‘I’m more focused on helping than on that [his contract expiring] right now.’

Vesga first joined Athletic’s academy from Alaves in 2014 and made his senior debut two years later before impressive loan spells at Sporting Gijon and Leganes.
The classy midfielder finally broke into Athletic’s first team under manager Garitano in the second half of last season and has not looked back since.
He has become a key piece in midfield in the last three games, but the win against Betis was followed by a 1-1 draw with Getafe and a 2-0 loss to struggling Celta Vigo.
Garitano’s Athletic have won just four of their 11 games so far this season, failing to find any kind of consistency.
