Incredible pictures have captured the moment a home partially collapsed as high winds battered Australia’s east coast on Thursday evening.
Emergency services were called to the corner of Wellington and Curlewis Street, in Sydney’s Bondi beach at 5pm to discover the left side of the building had collapsed with an elderly couple trapped inside.
Footage captured at the scene shows an entire wall collapsed, exposing the interiors of two bedrooms with beds hanging out of the wreckage onto a neighboring work site.

Windows, a wooden bed frame and white brick also collapsed into a pile of rubble next to the scene.
The two residents inside, a man and woman in their 80s, safely escaped the rubble with the help of Fire and Rescue NSW and Police Rescue through a back fence.

Paramedics were called to the scene but there were no injuries.
The cause for the incident is still unknown and an investigation is ongoing according to NSW Police.
The street remains sealed off as the site continues to be assessed.
Sydney was hit with high wind warnings yesterday that are expected to continue over the weekend.
