The SpaceX prototype missile test to Mars started well but ended up crashing, as the Model SN8, which was 160 feet long, blasted nearly 13 kilometers in the air. The model also implemented a turn-off maneuver to land, and SpaceX said it was the first for a vehicle of this size, but as the missile attempted to land, it hit the ground and burst into flames.
