- Iowa is the first caucus state and a must-win in the presidential primaries
- There is still speculation that President Donald Trump could seek election in 2024 and others believe his other children could seek public office, too
Ivanka Trump added more fuel to rumors she has presidential aspirations of her own by posting a tweet Monday celebrating the anniversary of Iowa‘s statehood.
The president’s daughter and senior advisor posted that she loves Iowa by using a heart emoji and exclamation point in response to a tweet from its governor celebrating the day Iowa officially became a state.
‘On this day in 1846, President James K. Polk signed a bill making Iowa the 29th state in the Union. Happy Statehood Day to the great State of Iowa, and to all who proudly call her home,’ Iowa’s Republican Governor Kim Reynolds posted.
The younger Trump’s post to her 10.3 million followers garnered close to 12,000 likes as of Wednesday morning – a lot more than her other tweets accumulate on average.
As the first caucus state, Iowa holds a lot of weight in primary contests and is a must-win for presidential hopefuls. The Hawkeye State has kicked off the presidential nominating contest for the last half century.
Despite speculation that Ivanka could have ambitions to seek national office, other rumors have suggested President Donald Trump could run for the White House again in 2024.

It’s believed that President Donald Trump could still seek election in 2024
A report earlier this month revealed aides believe Trump is planning a final Air Force One trip and rally in Florida on January 20 – the same day Joe Biden will be sworn into office. Some believe the president could use this opportunity to announce he will seek another White House bid in 2024.
Plans for Biden’s swearing in are continuously shrinking as his team implements coronavirus pandemic-related restrictions including on crowd size and canceling other traditional inauguration events.
Ivanka was last in Iowa for a two-day stint just before the presidential election last month as she campaigned for her father and the state’s Republican Senator Joni Ernst.
Trump beat Joe Biden in Iowa by 8 per cent and Ernst easily won despite a predicted difficult reelection.
She also went to Iowa in 2018 before the midterm elections to campaign for Reynolds.
Lara Trump, who is married to Trump’s son Eric, is reportedly considering running for Senate in her home state of North Carolina when a vacancy opens up in 2022.
She did not slap down rumors when asked about the potential during a Fox News interview earlier in December.
Trump’s eldest son Donald Trump Jr., who is very popular with his father’s base, has also flirted with the idea of running for public office – including potentially for president.
Some Republicans are pushing for a more traditional nominee, like former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley.
Trump has played up the possibility that his daughter could be the next Trump to serve as president.
During a campaign stop in August in New Hampshire – the first primary election state – Trump criticized Senator Kamala Harris, who a few weeks earlier was announced as Biden’s running mate.
He claimed Harris doesn’t have what it takes to become the first female president.
Instead, Trump said people would prefer to see the first female in the White House be Ivanka.
‘They’re all saying, ‘We want Ivanka!” Trump said at a rally soon after the Republican National Convention as he pointed to cheering supporters near the stage. ‘I don’t blame them.’
When Biden earned enough Electoral College votes to make him president-elect last month, he made history by having Harris at his side. She will be the first woman ever to serve as vice president.
Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner is also an adviser to Trump. The couple have three children between the ages of 4-9 and could be moving to Florida after the president vacates office in a few weeks. A report earlier this month revealed Ivanka and Kushner purchased a more than $30 million lot on Indian Creek Island, which is near Miami.
